Noise Halo 2 Smartwatch Review
Unboxing and First Impressions:
Noise Halo 2 comes in a nicely packed box which includes the following,
- The smartwatch itself.
- A two-pin magnetic charging cable.
- Paperwork and stickers.
- A brown silicon strap that feels like vegan leather.
- A magnetic clamp strap in the box ( a free bonus with a pre-order).
The watch has a soft brushed metal frame and comes in silver. The watch design is stylish and functional at the same time.
Watch Design and Build Quality:
The Noise Halo 2 has a rotating bezel in its edges and a crown that is functional in the center. It’s worth noting though that a rotating bezel, along with its crown is functional as one component pair which is quite an unusual design concept.
Summary of Key design elements:
- Frame: Metal that has been brushed and the silver finish is classy.
- Display size: 1.43-inch micro screen.
- Display bezels: The display has almost no bezels so it gives users all the views they want.
- Straps: Users will get a brown vegan leather or silicone strap and a magnetic strap for free.
Due to its oversized conflicting design and the bulgy look of the dial, the watch is less effective and suitable for someone with a smaller wrist.
Display and Touch Response:
The display is an AMOLED screen of approximately 466 by 466 pixels in size, making it usable in areas of strong light.
Display Features:
- Brightness Levels: 5 different levels which can be adjusted
- Always-On Display (AOD): Both styles, digital and analog, are supported.
- Watch Faces: included with the watch are many watch faces with many more downloadable off the internet.
While the touch response is satisfactory, the watch does not support a 60Hz refresh rate.
Battery Life and Charging:
The Noise Halo 2 battery usage is less than outstanding. It is able to last for nearly two days of Bluetooth calling, heart monitoring and notifications being enabled.
Charging Details:
- Charging Time: Approximately 2 hours
- UI Bug: A known battery percentage display bug affects its accuracy during charging.
Health and Fitness Tracking:
This watch can monitor your health and in particular your fitness while providing you with the following:
- Activity Tracker: Step counter able to provide information on the number of calories burned and distance walked
- Heart Rate Monitor: Reasonably accurate however it is not designed for diagnostic purposes.
- Blood Oxygen Monitor: Very reliable compared to an oximeter issued by a health institution.
- Sleep Tracker: Capable of tracking a user’s sleep constantly.
- Stress Monitor and Breathing Exercises: Useful aids for encouraging relaxation.
On a side note, on the watch, there are more than 100 sports modes available but believe it or not, there are only 8-10 of them presupposed.
Smart Features and Connectivity:
The smartwatch does incorporate several smart features that may assist the user in performing a number of day-to-day tasks:
Bluetooth Calling: Makes and receives calls from a distance of around 2-3 feet with clarity.
- Smart Notifications: Enables app notifications with previews of messages.
- AI Assistant: Activate voice assistant by long pressing the crown.
- Music and Camera Control: Control media or take pictures with a remote.
- Find My Phone/Watch Useful tracking devices.
What’s Missing?
Even though the Noise Halo 2 has a lot of features there are a few disappointments as well:
- No Built-in GPS: This is very strange considering its cost.
- No Game Support or Animated Watch Faces: These reduce interactivity.
- Not Swim-Friendly: Easily damping resistant but unsuitable for use in water.
- Anti-Splash: Allows for limited use of secondary buttons by locking and unlocking the display.
Conclusion: Is It Worth the Hype?:
The Noise Halo 2 smartwatch has powerful fitness features and cool functions like two-way calling or zooming. A flat battery power though, no inbuilt GPS, and a couple of bugs in the UI operating system could be rated as a big concern for many advanced users.
Who Should Buy It:
- Casual users looking for a stylish smartwatch with useful features
- Fitness enthusiasts need accurate tracking and sports modes
Who Should Skip It:
- Those requiring built-in GPS or advanced smartwatch features
- Users expecting long battery life for extensive outdoor activities
